چکیده
This paper presents a 1 Megapixel CMOS image sensor which applies a dual charge transfer (dual-TX) scheme in the pixel to achieve a high dynamic range. The prototype sensor uses analog outputs and operates at maximum 20fps in rolling shutter. The sensor achieves 3.3etemporal noise and 99Kefull well capacity with 10m pixel pitch.

Real-time algorithm enabling high dynamic range imaging and high frame rate exploitation for custom CMOS image sensor system implemented by FPGA with co-processor
We present results from a prototype CMOS camera system implementing a multiple sampled pixel level algorithm (“Last Sample Before Saturation”) in real-time to create High-Dynamic Range (HDR) images that approach the dynamic range of CCDs. The system is built around a commercial 1280 × 1024 CMOS image sensor with 10-bits per pixel and up to 500 Hz full frame rate with higher frame rates availabl...

The first image sensor with submicron pixel pitch is reported. Test structures comprising 16× 16 pixel Full-Frame-Transfer (FFT) CCDs with 0.5μm pixels are fabricated in a single-poly 110nm CMOS process. Characterization results demonstrate charge transfer efficiency of 99.9%, QE of 48% at 550nm, conversion gain of 193μV/e-, well capacity of 3550e-, dark current of 50e-/sec with nonuniformity o...
متن کاملA Dynamic Range Expansion Technique for CMOS Image Sensors with Dual Charge Storage in a Pixel and Multiple Sampling
A dynamic range expansion technique for CMOS image sensors with dual charge storage in a pixel and multiple sampling technique is presented. Each pixel contains a photodiode and a storage diode which is connected to the photodiode via a separation gate. The sensitivity of the signal charge in the storage diode can be controlled either by a separation gate which limits the charge to flow into th...
متن کاملAn Ultra-Low Power CMOS Image Sensor with On-Chip Energy Harvesting and Power Management Capability
An ultra-low power CMOS image sensor with on-chip energy harvesting and power management capability is introduced in this paper. The photodiode pixel array can not only capture images but also harvest solar energy. As such, the CMOS image sensor chip is able to switch between imaging and harvesting modes towards self-power operation. Moreover, an on-chip maximum power point tracking (MPPT)-base...
